What To Expect

Wailua River State Park

Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.

Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls)

After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip) Bring Closed Toed Shoes / Reef shoes / Teeva Style Sandals

Zack was a wonderful guide!! He was full of knowledge and checked in repeatedly with all guests to ensure their safety!! Many people on the trail asked about our walking sticks provided by Zack!! Zack's skills cutting pineapple was so creative and I had so much fun!!

I don’t often book tours but this one was great because it was a fairly small group (12). The weather was perfect which made for an even better experience but I think Zack our kayak guide really made the day. He was educational and entertaining and I’d be happy to recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kauai.

Family group of 8 of us did the 7:00 A.M. early kayak and waterfall hike. Thomas (The Original River Guide) was the perfect guide for our group. He was knowledgeable, relaxed vibe, pleasant, engaging, and did so many little extras to make our day extremely enjoyable. Best thing about going out early was that we were the first group on the river, and out front of the many groups to follow. Once at the waterfall, we had it to ourselves for a good 10-15 minutes. The river kayaking wasn’t difficult and the scenery was amazing. The hike to the waterfall wasn’t too difficult with a few tree roots, rocks, and small water crossings to navigate. Lunch was tasty and more than adequate and Thomas did a great job of fending off the chickens. would highly recommend this activity.
