This tour was a highlight of our trip. Melissa, our tour guide, was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable about the island, the history, the people and the surrounding landscape. She had our best interests in mind and truly cared about what we wanted to see and do. She was so friendly and so much fun to be around. Her laidback spirit, views on life and kindness were infectious. This private tour (in a luxury SUV) was perfect for our family of 4 adults who wanted to see and experience the Road to Hana, but did not want to be stuck in a big tour bus with lots of strangers going to all the crowded tourist spots with the other tour buses on a very regimented schedule. With Experience Hawaii we picked the spots/things we wanted to see and do and choose how long or short we stayed at each location. Melissa was a very cautious driver who knew the road and the local ins and outs of road etiquette that made the drive very relaxing. We chose the half day experience and the length of time we were gone was just right (about 5 1/2 hours). It allowed us to still have most of the afternoon on the beach after we returned back to our hotel. We chose to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. You can also choose to meet the tour guide at a location closer to the Road to Hana to save more time for your tour. However, we found talking with Melissa on that extra driving time to and from our hotel just added to the total experience. Thank you again for helping to make our trip to Maui so perfect.

Colby was our tour guide, very knowledgeable about the history of Maui. We only did a half day tour, but got to see a lot of sites. Colby even took group photos for us and even had a champagne toast for one of our friends who had a birthday that week.
