My wife and I went on the Afternoon Rocky Mountain Escape tour and what a brilliant experience it was! The tour lasts around 4 hours so is perfect if youāre limited for time or just want to be taken to a couple of the best places without enduring a full day tour. First stop on our trip was the charming town of Idaho Springs giving us a short rest and chance to look around the shops and grab some photos. We then started to get some altitude and headed up to Echo Lake where we enjoyed the beautiful views across the water. The tour then took us to its true highlight which was Juniper Pass which is about 11,000 ft up in the Rockies and offers a truly stunning view! We both agreed that we found this view more pleasing than that offered by the Grand Canyon, but thatās just personal preference of course. The peace (and pure air) youāll experience up here is incredible so make sure once youāve taken your photos to just relax for a while and take it all in. The tour then headed back to Denver leaving us totally elated at everything weād seen, including a herd of bison running down a hillside on the way back. Special mention must go to our fabulous guide, Susie. Weāre veterans of these tours and Susie must be the hardest working guide weāve ever met! She really does care that everyone has a great time and goes out of her way to make sure everyone takes away a special memory of the tour. We hadnāt anticipated quite how cold it would be at Juniper Pass and Susie was very kind to my wife by lending her a jacket and scarf making sure she was comfortable and could enjoy the experience - thanks Susie! So this is a superb tour and great value for money - we highly recommend it!
