We were looking forward to the half day Rocky Mountain hike. Unfortunately, one day prior, we were notified that the hike was canceled. We were traveling and not able to reach the office to reschedule until we arrived in Denver around 5:00. But the office was closed. The email said there was space on the Rocky Mountain Escape tour at the same time, so we showed up to take that tour. But it was filled. In fact all the tours were filled.
We met Elsa, who was the tour guide for the Red Rocks tour. She was very sympathetic and helpful. There were a couple of cancellations on her tour, so we were able to join.
Elsa was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable, interesting and excited to be sharing her love of Colorado with us.
I wish we had been informed about the hike cancellation with more advance notice. Even 24 hours might have been helpful in rescheduling.
