We were looking for a fun experience to do with our boys ages 15, 14 and 11 while on Spring Break in AZ and this was perfect! We did the half day trip on April 3rd. The drive from Tempe was beautiful - worth the early morning wake-up. We left around 6:30 am, stopped in Globe for a quick breakfast and arrived right at 9:15. The weather was in the mid 70's, but the water temp was around 45. Wilderness Aware provides everything you need - wet suits, water boots, splash jackets, life vests and helmets. We just showed up with swimsuits and long sleeve quick dry shirts. Our guide Tony was great and knew a lot about the river and area. Because of the high water levels this year, we were lucky to have some bonus rapids that normally aren't flowing. There were plenty of class II and III rapids as well as calm waters for taking in the amazing beauty all around. If you don't have a waterproof camera, you can purchase a flash drive of photos that they take of all the rafts along the route. Ben captured a ton of amazing shots of our group! On the way back to Tempe, we took the advice of the guides and stopped for lunch at Los Robertos in Globe (right next to McD's). It was so good! Overall, this was an awesome experience that we will never forget. I can't recommend it enough!

It was my first time whitewater rafting, so I did the Salt River half day. Beautiful scenery, the water level was high. Our guide was Flocks, who was super cool. Everyone was friendly and things went off without a hitch.
