The guide was very informative, accomodating, and fun. We were first time rafters and he made us feel safe.

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our float down the river. It was a little chilly the day we went so we wore tennis shoes. I think waterproof shoes of some kind would have been better suited as some water did get in our raft. We didnā€™t mind, but we werenā€™t prepared. The scenes were beautiful. Trae, our guide, did a wonderful job maneuvering the raft and educating us on the area. We learned so much. My boys are 12 and 16, and they enjoyed it, as well. Wear sunscreen!! I would recommend this float to anyone wanting a relaxing trip with wonderful views.

We met the tour near the launch area as we were not staying nearby. The meeting and the start of the tour began on time. We were given life jackets and received safety instructions from the shore crew and from our guide, Ben. The river was very fast as it was swollen from the Spring rains and the snowmelt. In addition to the backdrop of the mountains, there was a lot to see on the nearby banks of the river. We saw eaglesā€™ nests with pairs of eagles nearby. There were beaver huts, osprey, cliff swallows, Canada geese with babies, Merganser Ducks, and pelicans. The most surprising thing that we saw was what we thought was a herd of elk grazing about 100 yards from the riverbank turned out to be a herd of cattle. As we watched, the cattle began a stampede, running away from something. They were being chased by a black bear. The cattle ran into the woods with the bear right behind. The fast moving current took us out of sight, so we did not know the outcome of the chase. The staff all said that they had never seen that before although they have spotted moose, elk, and bears in the past. BRING BINOCULARS! You will see many things and binoculars are helpful as they are not all next to the shoreline. This was great entertainment for 2 1/2 hours and a good value for the price. We would do this again if we returned. You may get splashed a little bit, but no one got very wet. It is suitable for adults, teens and children.
