We saw a lot of whales. First, the first spot had two whales that were not very active. We moved to the other spot where there were about 10 whales. We saw lots of sea lions and birds in the same spot, all feeling on anchovies. We smelled the whale breath. The weather was a little chilly, but the water was calm. We even saw flopping really close!

I have lived in the Bay Area for 23 years and have been to Monterey many times but this was my first whale watching tour and it was absolutely amazing. It was a beautiful sunny day and the crew was great. We were very lucky and saw at least 20-30 humpback whales.

The whale watching was awesome. I've been on many, many whale watching trips in New England and I've never seen orcas and humpbacks interacting before. The captain and crew are professional and courteous, making sure everyone gets good views, even the other boats. I'd recommend buying your own Dramamine/ motion sickness meds instead of using theirs. The generic one they sell didn't work as well as the brand name one (imo). Just something I noticed with their ticketing system- they had two boats, so if you're in a group, but bought the tickets individually, your group might get split up. So if you do that, let them know I guess.
