We saw about a dozen different humpback whales on our tour. The guides were friendly and informative. We were able to move around the boat freely to observe whales on all sides. We also saw about two dozen Rissoā€™s dolphins.

It started out ok when we were in the protected water of the bay- we saw a young humpback whale pretty quickly and then a few others who surfaced often- we could see their backs and tails. I was traveling with my husband and two teenage kids.We all took one Dramamine pill beforehand. My kids started feeling sea sick within about 30 minutes- my son had his head down for the duration of the trip and my daughter vomited over the side of the boat. There were at least a dozen other people vomiting over the side of the boat and others who just laid down on the benches due to apparent sea sickness throughout the trip. We stood at the railing throughout the trip- The motion of the boat got ALOT worse when they left the calmer waters of the bay and went to ā€œexploreā€ the open seas of the Pacific in search of other whales. Thatā€™s when you REALLY saw people start to get sick. Vomit was everywhere you looked. The poor crew person whose job it was to take care of the sick people was quite busy! We saw a sea spout from a blue whale that was quite far off, but not any of the blue whaleā€™s body. So honestly, the suffering of those onboard wasnā€™t worth going out that far to sea where the surf was that rough. My daughter says this review should be renamed ā€œbarf boat.ā€ Honestly they shouldā€™ve just stayed in the calmer waters where the humpbacks and sea lions and birds were quite active and visible and those onboard werenā€™t quite as miserable. I just think they shouldā€™ve done a better job of assessing the experience of those onboard when theyā€™re paying that much for a good experience.

Hello, We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. Unfortunately, we have been hit with rougher waters that usual this summer and have been doing our best to navigate that with sightings. The chance to see a Blue Whale is once in a lifetime, only 1% of the worlds population has even laid eyes on one, so if the crew has the opportunity to try and show you one, they definitely will do what they can to make that happen. We try our best before the trip to prepare people and update them on sea conditions, but often times things can increase rapidly while out there. Please contact us at [email protected] with your booking details so that we can further assist you. Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated!
