Hamilton Musical Walking Tour

Overview
Take a song-by-song stroll through Hamilton’s rise and eventual fall as New York’s foremost Founding Father. This tour is designed for folks who have already seen or plan to see the 11 Tony Award winning Broadway production or those just addicted to the cast album. The tour puts the songs, history and lower Manhattan locations into perspective. The tour matches up individual songs with their actual location, including some bonus stops that help illuminate the time and place that Alexander Hamilton lived and died in. Each guest receives a Personal Listening Device to insure you hear every word and note, no matter how noisy the city gets.

The tour says 2 miles of walking, which seems like a good amount given the very cold temperatures, to keep everyone warm and engaged. Instead it should have been called a standing in the cold tour. We covered less than half a mile. Your guide really needs to pick up the pace, walking and talking, with much less standing, especially in cold weather. I appreciated that if he was going to have us standing still, we went to public inside spaces, but it was uncomfortable being in spaces where only customers were allowed. I was preoccupied that we were going to be kicked out. I also found the tour guide’s singing over the soundtrack to be annoying. Trinity Church was also closed during the tour, which was an anticipated highlight.

Our tour was led by Leo, who did a fantastic job!!! My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour even in the rain! Leo had great spots to get us out of the weather. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you know the songs to the Musical. We sang along to every song! Later that night, we went to Hamilton, and the tour brought so much more meaning and emotion to the Musical! I would give 10 stars if I could! Thank you again, Leo!
