We had an absolute blast on our kayak/snorkel tour yesterday! It was even better than we were expecting! Our guide, Dan, made us feel comfortable the entire time, whether we were kayaking up the river or in the ocean. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to snorkel and swim. It was also great to learn more about the bay and some of the local sites on our trip. This tour is definitely one to sign up for!

Jay and Dustin were our guides. Not only were they friendly and helpful, but they each have a wealth of knowledge about the island and were eager to share and educate us. I have kayaked many times before, but with their simple instructions and demonstrations I was able to improve my technique and it made it so much easier and more enjoyable for me. Hanalei Bay is a gorgeous spot for kayaking and snorkeling, they took us to a great beach that wasn't too crowded with other people. As a bonus, they made a pit stop on the way back to let us feed some wild boars! Make sure you reapply sunscreen, this was the only bad sunburn we got they whole week we were in Kauai. Overall, such a fun experience and worth every penny. Thanks for a great day, Jay and Dustin!

Kayaking was wonderful, snorkeling even better! i was back and forth with this trip bcuz we are from laguna beach, California (1/2 of us surf/kayak/paddleboard at home) so I wasn't sure if this would be enough for my family (and their friends). It turned out perfect - a little bit of smooth water, learning the history and hearing stories but then you are in more ocean waters for a bit too. The snorkeling was beautiful! We saw a huge turtle that was probably had a 4 foot diameter - he was amazing! The guides (Steve and Justice) were accommodating, showed us how to cut open a pineapple and made it a point to give us a good time. Food was decent and plenty. I definitely "got" what Hawaii time is tho. They had some unexpected circumstances that caused them to be late to meet us (it happens) but there seemed to be not the panic that mainlanders would have. So don't sweat it if they are late -- they will show up! Also, this didn't bother us one bit but it was pouring on our way back to shore. We expected it that day and the kids had a blast kayaking in the rain. My husband told me he totally preferred it than if I had scheduled that on an excruciating hot day. It was sunny and beautiful when snorkeling :) Good luck and have fun! Mahalo Steve and Justice!

Aloha Mystinef, Glad to hear that in-spite the time delay that Steve and Justice managed to show you and your family a good time on your Hanalei Blue Lagoon paddle and snorkel. Regarding island time:, know that this is not "time frame" that we subscribe to at Kayak Kaua'i. I have lived on islands all my life and you are on time regardless. I am told the day you refer to, there was a lengthy time delay for road work in Kilauea coupled with some clients we were supposed to meet up in Princeville. Thanks for you patience and for not having the delay qualify your experience snorkeling with turtles....our company totem. Stay active and when ready...your family sounds ready for sea kayaking Na Pali with us. Thanks for your kind words and taking the time. A hui hou,
