My dad and I took a father/son trip to New Orleans. One of our tours canceled about a week before and when searching for a replacement I stumbled upon this cocktail class. It sounded interesting so I took a chance. We did three tours while in New Orleans and this was by far our favorite experience. In my dadā€™s words ā€œthat was awesomeā€. I had been to some cocktail classes but felt most the times it was more demonstration than really getting hands on. In this class we learned the history of spirits and the fundamentals of classic cocktails then everyone hands on was making drinks. Mixing, shaking, stirring. Using all the cool barware and even learning proper shaking and muddling techniques. We were provided note pads and I have 4 pages of notes including some notations on some interesting books to order. Highly recommend. Also, the class is located about .8 miles from City Park, so in the morning we took the streetcar to city park and walked around the beautiful sculpture garden and grabbed a beignet and coffee from the cafe du monde in the park then walked down to the class. Made for a wonderful day.

We had an amazing time with Chris making cocktails. Learning the simplicity of a cocktail and how to make variations with a simple ratio recipe. Making an old fashion recipe with gin was surprisingly good. We were so glad we chose this experience
