Haunted Memphis Walking Ghost Tour

Overview
Enjoy the darker side of Memphis and hear tales of the city's haunted heritage as told by professional storytellers. The city’s South Main Historic District – an eclectic, colorful area with some of the city’s oldest buildings – has a long history of sensational murders and ghostly activity. On this two-hour walking tour, you'll visit a number of haunted sites, including:
• The Orpheum Theater, home of "Mary," who has haunted performances since 1921
• The John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian era mansion haunted by star-crossed lovers
• The notorious Ernestine & Hazel's, a former brothel long recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. We'll take you inside this creepy establishment, home to several ghosts as well as a haunted jukebox.

Brian was our tour guide for the haunted walking tour. When I say he had everything going against him on this tour, I’m not exaggerating. One group was running late - always a couple minutes away, but after 20 minutes we decided to head off without them. During the wait, a group became extremely disgruntled at the tour guide, causing a scene and becoming downright rude to Brian. He made the (right) call to ask them not to attend the tour. All fine by us! There were six folks on our tour, and they were all super friendly and engaging. Glad the late folks and disgruntled group didn’t end up coming. More fun without them! On top of that, shortly into the tour Brian alerted us to a tornado warning. After consulting radar, we all decided to forge on. On and off rain continued during the tour, but we made the best of it. Brian did a great job explaining the history of all of our stops and truly helped provide a spooky atmosphere. It wasn’t the ideal situation, but we truly appreciated his expertise! Plus, he made a couple great recommendations for places we’ll check out while we’re in town!

Kate was a great tour guide providing detailed enjoyable color to all of the stops along the way. At times photos revealed things difficult to explain with conventional logic. In earlier photo note two lights clearly visible in the second floor window on the right. No lights in the room and no reflection on the glass.
