Enjoy the darker side of Memphis and hear tales of the city's haunted heritage as told by professional storytellers. The city’s South Main Historic District – an eclectic, colorful area with some of the city’s oldest buildings – has a long history of sensational murders and ghostly activity. On this two-hour walking tour, you'll visit a number of haunted sites, including:
• The Orpheum Theater, home of "Mary," who has haunted performances since 1921
• The John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian era mansion haunted by star-crossed lovers
• The notorious Ernestine & Hazel's, a former brothel long recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. We'll take you inside this creepy establishment, home to several ghosts as well as a haunted jukebox.

Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

Although it was very cold and windy last night during our tour, Daniel (our guide) was very energetic and in a way brought the story’s to life. I’ve always heard Memphis was a bad place but I decided to cross the river and check it out for myself. Last night during the tour it showed a side that doesn’t get mentioned enough and that would be how great the atmosphere is.

Our family just did the Memphis Ghost Walking tour and it was awesome. Our tour guide was Daniel, I would highly recommend him if you can request him, very informative on his knowledge of Memphis and the ghost history. We had 2 of our grandkids with us, ages 10 and 12, they had a great time as well. Although we were not allowed in to any of the locations because of Covid, it was still worth the money. There were a few stories that Daniel told us, that would make the hair on the back of your neck and arms stand up..😱😱.
