It was an incredible experience for all that went. There were 7 of us so everyone got to paddle. We started from Kailua Beach and went to the Mokuluas. Our Guide- Toby- was so knowledgeable about Kailua/ Lanikai and some of the significance of the island/ history. We walked to see a few of the tide pools and got some amazing pictures of the waves crashing on the rocks. Even saw a few turtles in the bay :) Definitely a MUST DO when visiting here!!

Highly recommend this excursion! Even though the water was a bit choppy, the ride was smooth (and I’m a person who frequently gets seasick). The guides, Kawelo and Kari were very knowledgeable, and shared their experiences growing up on Oahu as well as geological history and history of the Hawaiian canoeing traditions and how colonialism and modern technology have impacted Hawaiian traditions. They took us on a mini-hike once we got to one of the islands, where we learned about native animals and plants, and jumped into a little pool created by the rocks. They had an extra snorkel mask for us to explore the waters around the island, and left us time to hang out and swim on the beach. They also gave us lots of great food recommendations for all around the island, which we will definitely be pursuing. Overall, I feel like we learned a lot and made two new friends! We definitely got a lot more than we paid for.

Everything about the boat excursion to "The Mokes" was fun. After photographing sunrises on Lanikai beach for years, being on the bay and actually visiting one of the twin islands was a thrill. Our guides were pros at navigating the water and assisting us over the rocks on the island to see the rugged rocky side. They also shared interesting information about Hawaiian fishing history and some of their own boating and fishing experiences.
