This was my third food tour in New York City (probably twelfth overall) and one I'd highly recommend. Alex was a fantastic tour guide and NYC historian. Because Hell's Kitchen doesn't have the same architectural significance of other areas of the city, he focused on the people and the storied history of this unique place. The restaurants chosen were exceptional and there wasn't a single stop we didn't enjoy. As other reviewers have noted, the portions are huge and you will definitely want to come hungry. This was my first time having Japanese BBQ and Georgian food, so these were highlights of the tour for me. The walking and pace were moderate, and I appreciated the ability to sit inside most of the restaurants we visited while listening to Alex spin his tales - he is definitely a natural storyteller. Many food tours have you crowded in a group in a corner or on the street to enjoy your tastings, but this tour gave you the time and space to enjoy each stop to the fullest. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.

Alex was a great storyteller about some of the history of the Hell's Kitchen area. We enjoyed all of the food options on the tour and felt quite full after the tour.

This tour with Alex was amazing! How lucky were my friend and I to get him all to ourselves?! He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We loved all of the food and even went back to two of the restaurants later on our trip! Highly recommend!!
