What To Expect
1
Liliuokalani Gardens
This is the largest Japanese garden outside of Japan donated by Queen LiliŹ»uokalani in 1917. Throughout the gardens are stone lanterns, gazebos, and torii gates, recalling the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii.
2
Hilo
Drive through the historical downtown Hilo as you will learn about the devastating tsunamis of the past
3
Rainbow Falls
Breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. These beautiful falls get their name from the rainbow that is often visible in the mist that rises as the water cascades to the rocks 80 feet below.
4
Kaumana Caves Park
Time to explore lava caves is next! We walk you down into a lava cave through a skylight, also locally known as a lava tube. Kaumana Caves was created by one of our largest volcanoes, Mauna Loa. The guide will explain how molten lava makes these spectacular lava tubes and the fascinating colors inside.
5
Pahoa
On our drive we will drive through a quaint town called Pahoa. Once a booming plantation town and now a laid-back hippie town with old school artistry charm and wood-plank boardwalks. You will see the current lava flow that nearly wiped this town off the map.
6
Lava Tree State Park
We will walk a trail among lava trees that looks somewhat of a petrified forest and look down into a deep fissure. This unusual volcanic sight is one stop that shouldnā€™t be missed.

We had been to The Big Island and previously visited the Volcano National Park, so we wanted to do something different. This trip we actually saw water flowing at Rainbow Falls, but unfortunately it was raining, so no rainbow. Edmond took us to the lava forest and fields, which was very interesting.

After reading the reviews on the lava boat tours we decided on this cruise because it was a smaller group. Didn't really know what to expect but it far exceeded our expectations and was an amazing up close tour of the volcano and lava. The pictures really don't capture how amazing this tour really was. The Captain and crew mate were so friendly made the trip a memory of a lifetime. Don't hesitate on this one... you won't regret anything. I would suggest for the queasy folks... take your anti-nausea medication because it's an exciting ride.

Aloha, we no longer are able to provide a boat to the last lava eruption sight, however we are now proving a tour into the Lava Devastation area starting Jan 2020!

This was a disappointment. Our guide did not follow the things we booked to see. He took us to a trash dump, and the painted churches, and other not expected places. We only got 30 minutes at a lava related stop. He also reported that he forgot our snacks and water. Do not go on this tour.
