This was a nice time out on the water. Unfortunately the day we went was very very windy and I’m glad our family are fit as it would have been very difficult to navigate paddling around. Having said that, it is beautiful out on the water, we felt very safe, be aware that the meeting point for the kayaks is not as it’s listed in the instructions. Tim knew a lot about the area and answered all the questions we had. We were a group of five, two adults and older teens who all had our own kayak. Recommend if you want to have some time on the water…. Just be aware that it might not be a relaxing paddle if the wind is high, we had a great workout!

Super fun to go on a foggy morning with a very small group. Tim was a very good guide and pointed out many of the birds. We saw pelicans, cormorants, osprey and a bald eagle.

The equipment was in good condition. It was an easy entry into the water from the floating dock for all ages. The guide was very patient with all levels of kayakers. He gave instructions to new kayakers. I wish my guide would have been more forthcoming with nature information. He told us the names of the islands but nothing about the wildlife (unless we asked him) or the history of the area. He was friendly, but not incredibly knowledgeable about the area or the surroundings. Good kayaking but not an informative tour.

Thank you for taking time to write a very informative review and highlighting some of parts of your tour. We take pride in being informative of the surrounding areas and nature, and I am sorry it did not meet your standard. This will be addressed with the staff. Thank you again for kayaking with Island Head.
