Overview

Our Ultimate Tour is a combination of a tranquil, relaxed-pace ride at the pristine 70-acre nature preserve followed by a faster paced Alligator Hunt. Begin with a relaxed-paced, stop and go, narrated tour including riding the boardwalk over the salt marsh to see and learn about the tidal change.

Winding through secluded Live-Oaks draped in Spanish Moss and one of the top Camellia Gardens in the country with 131 varieties on display. Also learn about and see an endangered Marsh Tacky Horse, Butterfly House and many other amazing sites. Followed by a faster paced ride around a lake where some of the largest gators are often spotted along with egret, herons, cormorant, anhinga and other area birds.

What To Expect

Coastal Discovery Museum

Tour the 70 acre nature preserve at Honey Horn (part of Hilton Head Island). See Life Oak Forest, open meadows, a butterfly habitat, travel over boardwalks into the salt marsh, and see the oldest living tree in SC (over 350 years!). nd then exit the area to travel by Segway to an lagoon where alligators are commonly seen floating or swimming in the water or basking in the sun on the lagoon bank.

Jarvis Creek Park

John delivered an exceptional experience, assuring our safety and enjoyment. This was our first experience on a Segway. He had us up and rolling in no time. We learned about the local environment, some local history, and some local colorful anecdotes. Highly recommend as a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

I learned so much about the history and ecology of Hilton Head and the lowcountry in this 2-hour tour. Our guide Doc was amazing- he was well-informed and a great communicator. The training on the Segway was also very effective. This tour was great, and a great value.

We were greeted at the parking lot by "Doc" who took us to the building to prepare for our ride. The training was clear and concise. The tour was informative and beautiful. Doc took pictures of us on our phones and in special places. We had so much fun and learned about the history of Hilton Head. Thank you Doc! It was great!
