Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. Very cool experience, bagging shrimp. Not a big trawler, but big enough to have an interesting experience! Captain Spike and mate Chase were very good! They explained the net characteristics, what we might catch and identified what we did catch. Net take was bout 7 lbs of shrimp, split amongst the guests. We learned how to pop the head off the shrimp - a hand intensive operation. That night, we broiled our fresh take with garlic, butter and herbs. Very good and a trip well worth the take!

Different, A 1 hour ride in a circle dragging a hot you can't see. Stayed between the islands in calm water. We were told they were going to give the people thT paid to shrimp what ever they caught. But in the end they gave each group only 1 to 2 pounds. That wS only 8 small bags in total. They kept about 15 pounds for themselves. Kind of disappointing Cost 130.oo dollars for my group of 3 adults And we helped clean about 40 pounds of shrimp..

Great sunny day on the water catching shrimp but they should divide catch by the number of indiv 🎟 purchased not by the # of parties. Overall enjoyable experience,highly recommend!!
