Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Shrimping! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up in our nets (in addition to shrimp!).

We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.

This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

What To Expect

Vagabond Cruise

Aboard this two hour excursion you will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch shrimp aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home. All excursions depart from Harbour Town Yacht Basin within the Sea Pines Resort. There is a $9.00 per vehicle entry fee for the Sea Pines Resort that must be paid in cash. This gate pass is valid for the entire day, so make the most out of the Sea Pines Resort. Check-in for your Shrimp Trawl aboard the Tammy Jane will be at the Vagabond Cruise reservation office which is located just to the right of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. We took the Tammy Jane shrimp trawl last summer on a trip to Hilton Head and had a great time! The crew was very friendly and informative. It was myself and wife aboard along with two other family's so we were able to ask a lot of questions to the first mate. He even got my wife to pop a head off of a shrimp which I didn't think was possible! lol We plan on visiting again on our upcoming trip this summer!

We werent sure about what it meant to go shrimping but thought it might be fun after our other cruise was cancelled. It isnt a real 'hands on' experience with actual shrimping but we did learn about the nets, the process and were able to take home some of the shrimp caught. The time on the boat waiting was spent learning about the hatbor and the shrimping business, watching dolphins, birds and other wildlife. Its a great option for families.

We took this trip and our family loved it! Very informative and lots to see. It was an added bonus to have dolphins join us for the entire trip, and throw by catch up to the seagulls to see them catch fish in the air. I would definitely recommend!
