What To Expect
1
Bar Harbor Historical Society
Built in 1902, La Rochelle is a simply jaw-dropping estate. This enormous mansion has 41 rooms and a ton of history. It's now owned by the Maine Seacoast Mission Society, which purchased the property for only a dollar.
2
Holy Redeemer Catholic Church
This is a church which simply must be photographed. The impressive stonework, the imposing tower, and the gorgeous windows are all just begging to end up on Instagram!
3
Jesup Memorial Library
This historic library dates all the way back to 1877. At the time, it had only 250 volumes, almost all of which were donated by the town's wealthy residents. Since then, that small collection has continued to expand.
4
Abbe Museum
Abbe Museum celebrates the heritage of the native Wabanaki. Also known as the People of the Dawn, the Wabanaki lived in Bar Harbor long before it was Bar Harbor. Museum founder Robert Abbe wanted to honor that long history, and the museum now features exhibits encompassing 12,000 years of Native history in the region.
5
Village Green
Bar Harbor's village green isn't just any old park. It was designed by Beatrix Farrand, who also designed the Rose Garden at the White House! It features an 1896 street clock, a historic bandstand, and a fountain in the style of 17th century Italian fountains.
6
Grant Park
Once the site of a Gilded Age mansion, Grant Park is now just a pleasant, oceanside green space for all to enjoy. If you're looking for the ideal picnic spot, this is it!

The route takes you thru a three foot wide 100 yard long path between two fence’s that is muddy and water filled. This area of the tour route should be reconsidered .

I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your walk, Allan. I acknowledge that you had to navigate a sloppy and waterlogged route, perhaps resulting from the recent hurricane. Nevertheless, the local authorities have taken proactive measures to rejuvenate that section. I will try to provide you with a seamless experience during our Historic Bar Harbor Walking Audio Tour. Thank you for choosing our tour, and have a secure and enjoyable trip!

The audio walking tour of Bar Harbor was very easy to use. I downloaded it while at home on wi-fi as suggested in the email instructions and tested it out immediately afterwards. Worked like a charm even when I turned off wi-fi and data at home and in Maine. The narration went at a nice pace, the gentleman had a good voice and was easy to understand. My husband and I split a set of wireless ear pods that way we could hear the tour clearly and wouldn't disturb anyone around us. Plus we didn't have to huddle around the phone in order to hear it. This was 1 of 2 audio tours that we did from the same company and both were great. Would definitely use them again!

We booked this as a last minute activity for a day in bar harbour. We weren’t expecting much for the price paid but it was blooming brilliant! I would absolutely recommend. It’s worth purchasing it at least the day before to make sure it’s downloaded etc. we had no issues with it and thought it was really simple and easy to use.
