Tybee Island
Get ready for some fun and learning! Our historian and guide will begin with exploration of the North beach and Savannah river as it was used by the indigenous of the Island 600 years ago. The tour offers stories and lore to recall the charms and whimsy of the island as she passed through indigenous, pirates, early English settlers, and now into modern days. The often overlooked North End Tybee holds a rich history about the settlers as well as military with the historical value and tales of Fort Screven. The open-air ride will surely place a smile on your face as you take in views that only a local would know, and stories that only a historian can tell with accuracy and passion.

Jac made the history come to life for us and all of it was very interesting to us. We got a bonus stop at the local ice cream shop which my adult girls loved 😊 If you get a chance, take this tour with Jac!

Jacqueline (Jack) is one of the best Tybee historians you could have the pleasure to meet. Not only does she know almost everything there is to know about Tybee, but throughout your tour you're greeted by locals just passing by to say "hey" as you learn about the history of their homes. It's a perfect mix of history and the modern landscape of Tybee and it’s the perfect introduction to Tybee, offering an insider scoop on the life of Tybee. She kept the tour engaging with recommendations and fun facts that kept even my mother who normally sleeps through historical tours engaged throughout. During the trip she got out of her cart to take pictures of the Tybee Post Theater schedule to help us plan our coming days and stopped for a scoop of icecream. We came right after Hurricane Helene when the island had no power but Jack brightened our day with her bubbly personality and enthusiasm for the island. A real can't-miss activity for a trip to Tybee.

Jac is terrific. Very knowledgeable and personable. The tour is informative and entertaining. We never would have known about the north island history if we hadn’t taken the tour. Highly recommend!
