[This is a tour that ABSOLUTELY MUST START ON TIME!] Buzz through Charlotte’s hopping Uptown neighborhood on this Segway tour of North Carolina’s biggest city! Follow your local guide as you glide along the Levine Avenue of the Arts and check out the Mint Museum, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, The Gantt Center and the historic Fourth Ward. Choose either a 1.5- or 2-hour ride – the longer ride includes two historic cemeteries and the Carolina Panthers football stadium. This is a GREAT, POPULAR tour of Uptown Charlotte, however we are VERY VERY rarely able to accommodate late guests. CRUCIAL INFO: PLEASE NOTE that if you are not able to park and arrive at our office at least 45 min. before your tour time for mandatory Segway training, you will likely miss your opportunity to go out on this tour! And availability to reschedule for the same day or for weekend/holiday tour times is VERY UNLIKELY. PROMPT ARRIVAL IS A MUST FOR THIS TOUR. THANK YOU!!!

MUST MUST MUST BE ON TIME FOR THIS TOUR! Arrive 45 min. before start time for training!!!
Minimum age is 12 years old and must weight at least 100 lbs.
Participants under 18, they must be with a parent or responsible party 21yrs or older and have a signed waiver from a parent
Minimum weight is 100lbs so the Segway computer can respond to your movement.
Maximum weight is 260lbs.
Dress code: Ideally wear comfortable closed toe shoes, weather appropriate layers, and no hats under helmets. Gloves recommended on cold days
No pregnant travelers are allowed
NOT ALLOWED FOR PREGNANT PARTICIPANTS!
NOT recommended for those who've had somewhat recent hip or knee replacements
NOT recommended for those with unpredictable blood sugar issues.
Participants must be able to stand for 1.5 -2 hrs and be able to climb stairs unaided.

The guide was awesome he was very knowledgeable about the history of North Carolina. For us the tour was much to slow paced with way too many stops. We wanted to get to ride the segways which was stage main reason we did the tour. I’d like to have seen a lot more riding and a lot less talking. There’s a balance to be had and it’s weighted heavily towards standing and listening more so than riding the segways. We rented the lime scooters after wards to run around town and see it as we had rather see it riding and pointing things out instead of stops every 2 minutes for 5 minutes at a time.

Charlotte NC Tours is always glad to have this kind of feedback. For those who are more interested in just riding the Segways, we can sometimes offer our 1 hour Fun Ride (depending on guide availability) which excludes the stops and the narration, if history is not your thing. AS PROMISED IN THE ONLINE DESCRIPTION OF THIS TOUR, the 1.5 hr HISTORIC UPTOWN tour does indeed include short narratives about the compelling history of Charlotte and places in Uptown. Overall, we average 6-7 stops along way (not counting the brief waiting times at pedestrian crossings), and towards the midpoint of the tour time there are shorter stops and longer stretches of riding time as well as opportunities to take photos. So far in our 13 years of providing Segway tours of Uptown Charlotte, it's clear (from our hundreds and hundreds of 5 "owl-eye" reviews) the majority of our tour guests are more than satisfied with the pace and content of this tour. We are genuinely sorry that these guests were not.

Lane is a great tour guide, we were a gorup of four people and we all live in Charlotte and we learned a lot about our city. It was also a fun experience! HIghly recommend them
