This review is long overdue and bad on me. It was Christmas Day and Jonathan took my aunt and me on an incredible journey through the quiet streets of Charleston and opened corners of history that were heartening, somber, illuminating, and nearly unbelievable. Jonathan really knows his history and truly engages with you when he presents it. I've taken a lot of tours and they can often be educational, but also scripted -- not so with Jonathan. He is talking to YOU and it was obvious that he enjoyed having a conversation about the topics, not just a one-way street. By the end, our feet were tired, our minds expanded, our hearts uplifted and we felt like we had made a friend. I cannot speak highly enough about Jonathan and his tours - he is a terrific guy and a passionate scholar. I can genuinely say that that was THE best tour I've ever taken and a very memorable Christmas. Thanks Jonathan and sorry this is so late. - Mindu

Our guide Jonathan was informed, entertaining, and passionate. While I was aware of some of the women he spoke about, I learned about a few new ones. Stories were great.

Jonathan is incredible. He talks about these stories with care and passion. He’s extremely knowledgeable and is telling different and important stories that should be heard. Everyone should take this tour!!
