We loved this tour. We are a mother - daughter (age 11) duo and were in Charleston for Spring Break. The tour was right at two hours long. Fantastic storytelling and the tour kept moving. It was really engaging and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. I really look forward to doing another tour with Jon again and have already referred a few other people who are planning trips down South. In fact, I would actually skip the horse-drawn carriage tours in favor of this. Way more history -- with a true subject matter expert!

Amazing walking tour! A must do for any fan of history who wants to get the whole picture. The women covered in the story go from the precolonial to the Jim Crow era, giving you a breadth of Charleston history. Did this tour with an 8 year old who could follow along and enjoyed her time. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and mindful of weather conditions. Doesnā€™t white wash southern history (unlike most other downtown tours), and touches on some truly vanguard women! Best tour in Charleston - inspiring and thought provoking!!

One of the best tours Iā€™ve ever taken. John was incredibly knowledgeable and a great story teller. His vignettes were fascinating, and I learned an amazing amount of history and architecture while having a great time. Absolutely go on this tour!!!
