We have done lots of tours all over the world. We always prefer smaller guided tours with locals sharing their knowledge. This was absolutely the best tour of this kind that we have ever experienced, period. It was like participating in a Ken Burns documentary! The amount of information provided in a comfortable, casual, conversational style was amazing. Forget trying to remember it all to recount it to your friends-just immerse yourself in the experience. Birmingham has a powerful history to share and I can't imagine anybody better at sharing it than Red Clay Tours. Every detail of your experience has been considered and provided for. Don't be put off by the image of the rusty industrial stuff in the tour's description. That's Sloss Furnace and it is one of the many fascinating sites you will visit!

This tour was excellent! Clay was the perfect guide. He had so many facts, dates, figures, names and stories at his fingertips. At the same time he made it so interesting, personal and fun. He told funny and moving stories that made the tour relevant. He tailored the tour to us and made us laugh. He had local drinks and snacks available too. He is passionate about what he does and is the consummate professional. It was exactly what we wanted and now we feel like we understand and know Birmingham past and present. Thank you, Clay.
