Here in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina for the Beaufort International Film Festival. This morning the festival arranged an awesome tour of famous filming locations - including the bridge that Forrest Gump runs across, the church where Forrest sang with the baptist choir, the antebellum house from The Big Chill, and Nick Nolte’s house in The Prince of Tides...and so many more. Plus, a mix of local history dating back from the 1500s to the 1960s. All in all, couldn't have spent a better hour out of our day.

The van tour of Beaufort SC was perfect in length and in the information shared by our guide. I never knew there was so much about the history and lifestyle of the people. There were pirate stories and rumors of buried treasure. It was also fascinating to find out about the many movies that were made in Beaufort. It's understandable why Pat Conroy continued to live in this area even after becoming famous! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and made the time very fun.

Chilly January mid week History and Movie Tour of Beaufort was enjoyed by 6 senior citizens. The tour guide was VERY knowledgeable and we would tour with her again. The PROBLEMS included poor location of where to pick up the tour. We went to the address listed and the shopkeeper directed us across the parking lot. A Different Tour was there and there was confusion as to whether we were on that tour. Fortunately he directed us back to another area and noted to watch for a new Mercedes van. Unfortunately the van for the tour was not a new one and in ill repair! Apparently this guide is not allowed to use the new one!!! She struggled with a rubber seal around the side entry was off and it took 15 minutes to try to get it back on track in order to board the van and then close the door. Once inside, the face microphone did not work. The guide did her best to speak loudly, however, the last 2 rows of guests lost much of the commentary. Kudos to our guide who extended the tour the full time plus a bit to make up for the lost time getting started. Hoping the secondary van is brought up to standard!
