We have taken this tour at least twice in the past as something to do with visitors. Janet, the guide, was amazing in her knowledge and we learned quite a bit more on the history of Beaufort. So it was like taking a new tour

My 93 yr old Mom and I did a private tour with Bill. He was very accommodating and did a wonderful “multimedia” presentation on the area and movies filmed here. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. It was a great overview and made me want to return.

It was a Sunny Saturday Afternoon, blue sky, slight salt wonderful wind blowing, an I arrived a few moments early. I came from the broad river bridge and kept 170 (Robert Smalls) , until i hit boundary street. I kept driving through all lights until i hit Ribaut Street. Then at North street, I made a Left. When coming this way, north street is like a neighborhood, so I kept driving until i could not go straight anymore, and water was in front of me, and boats. Be careful, in the curve and driving out making that left. Its small, but traffic is going three directions, with NO STOP LIGHT...USE YOUR SIGNAL my sweet OUT-OF-TOWNER-FRIENDS.... LOL. Then I made a Left at the stop sign. You will pass a Big white city building with a bell in front of it. Then you will pass a few houses on the left, and to the right is street parking that is free, if you find a spot. Last parking spot is two blocks away from the right you will make in to the Public Paid Meter Parking lot. You will see a sign out on the curb. Make that right. Slight slope down. Park anywhere you like, outside of Obvious Signage. ( Markings are big and clear) You will notice big black boxes where numbers have been painted over. don't be alarmed your in the right spot. There are cash/cc meter machines on the sidewalk near a white building that you may use. Hit okay on this machine to wake it up. Then follow the prompts. Make sure you bring your debit card and cash for the machines. I did bring cash only because I am particular. LOL. After you park ,if you come early enough, you can enjoy meeting Mr. Bill. So the Van is parked under a shaded tree near the red brick building. When you see the van it is the same as in the picture above. The van has four rows of cloth seats. You will need to step up in the van. Saw a gentleman, and said Bill? He turned and with a smile, clean cut and said Lekiesha? Greeting like its been years, even though first time. He was very professional and ready to show us all the wonderful history of Beaufort. Air Conditioned Van even the very last person at the back could feel a strong nice breeze. I loved this history tour first and foremost, I enjoyed that no bugs ( no-see-ums) were in my face at all. Lol. If your coming here in the spring or summer and even early fall, bring OFF bug repellent. Don't say nobody told ya. LOL The tour details I will not spoil for you, Nor will I spoil the special things Bill reveals about Beaufort. He will captivate your Ears, Eyes, and Heart into the deep history and landmarks of Beaufort. I was so happy with his knowledge and wit during the 1 hour tour. I stayed to take the second tour. It was so incredible convenient to take two total different tours with the same fella in one day. Now after the history, I took the 2 hour movie tour. Again i will not spoil it for you. It was amazing to experience another great tour. I really enjoyed learning more than I knew about Pat Conroy. He has had close dealings and encounters and friendships, and relatives of Conroy. All the special stops you will make, when he opens the door hop out and take some photos. He will show videos during the ride, if you cant see TV without glasses bring them. Thanks Kindly Bill I will be seeing you again with my family members and clients. Thanks so much. I do have plenty photos to enjoy but you will collect your own as well don't want to spoil to much.
