What To Expect
1
Hoover Dam
This exciting tour commences with complimentary hotel pickup. As you make your way to the Hoover Dam, you will travel past Lake Mead, the second largest man-made lake in the Western Hemisphere. The tour will provide you with the opportunity to walk on the top of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge. Following this stop, you will cross over the top of the Dam with closeup views of the architecture, penstocks and Arizona Spillway. When the Hoover Dam was completed early in 1935, it was both the world's largest electric power producing facility and the world's largest concrete structure, weighing a total of 6.6 million tons. You will discover a multitude of facts on your tour about this impressive structure.

Hoover Dam Bypass
The Bypass Bridge opened in 2010 stretching nearing 2,000 feet long and 840 feet above the Colorado River, making it the second highest bridge in the United States. Ample time is provided for souvenir shopping and purchase of food items at the Dam restaurant. This is truly an exciting and very educational experience that will provide you with a thorough overview of this fascinating, nearly 90 year old, civil engineering wonder of the world.

Hoover Dam tour very worthwhile - I would recommend a different tour company however. They said pick up at 11:15 but when I called to confirm the night before it was moved to 12:20, That made me worried about our evening plans as we wanted to get back in time to shower, change, eat and make an 8pm show. Our driver was Angela and amazingly she missed the exit on the highway and we had to change the route to get to the highway we needed to. Lots of "I can't believe I did that" over the microphone. She did not stop talking the whole way pointing out all the fast food joints we passed and talking about the discount shopping in the suburbs when she picked us all up downtown. She was full of weird wrong "facts." Water in the river is 20 degrees, Pat Tillman was killed in a "fire" in Afghanistan, Herbert Hoover changed the name of Boulder Dam to Hoover Dam because he liked it better. All wrong of course. It got very annoying. She also repeated herself endlessly as if she was talking to a group of 5th graders. After reading some of the entertaining and more knowledgeable guides reviewed, I would spend the extra $30 or so and go with a different company.

The tour was very interesting. That is done on your own. Our bus driver had a lot of interesting facts and stories to share on the way to and from Las Vegas

Great time on this tour. Worth the money and good easy way to get to and see the dam. The ride there is nothing spectacular and the tour is good. The buses were on time and drivers friendly. Our main driver was "Billy The Kid" and he did a great job of giving us information and doing his best to keep everyone entertained including special bonuses! It was evident that Billy loves his job and wants everyone to enjoy the tour. Thanks Billy and that's the set up on that!
