Nearby Boulder City, located just 6 miles from the dam site, was built and designed by the government to house and feed the dam workers.

We enjoyed every part of our trip today, even though we were not allowed to go see the turbines. Darren was an excellent tour guide and we were able to see many other interesting areas on the way and at the Hoover Dam.

This was the perfect tour for us. Traveling with my 13 year old and my 11 year old daughters we wanted a short but informative tour about the Hoover Dam. And we didn’t want to be in a van or bus with other people, since we didn’t have much time and also due to Covid. Darren our private guide was great and so knowledgeable without being boring. He took us to all the main sites including Boulder City and Hemenway Park. And stopped at a cute bakery so we could grab a quick snack since we didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast before the tour. The Dam, the lake, the bridge, what amazing views! We had time for everything, from pictures to just enjoying the beautiful views, we were never rushed. Great experience!
