Enjoy a relaxing horseback ride through one of Oahu’s hidden treasures—the Hawaiian countryside of Gunstock Ranch. You and your horse will travel through shady forest trails and trek across open pastures, spotting grazing cattle, soaring island birds, and maybe even a family of wild pigs.

The grand finale of the tour is the lookout over the stunning North Shore coastline and the quiet town of Laie, nestled on the edge of the crystal-clear ocean. It’s a great spot for photos and a moment of relaxation in one of the most beautiful places around. Plus, the whole ride will be intimate, with small group sizes, so you can experience an authentic paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) adventure.

CHECK-IN TIME: Check in is 45 minutes prior to the start time of tour. A safety demo is given 15 minutes prior to the tour, if you miss the safety demo you will have missed your tour
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Minimum age is 7 years
All passenger weights must be advised at time of booking. 235lbs/106kg weight limit
Long pants and covered shoes are recommended; bring a light jacket if the weather is cold
We ride rain or shine. If canceled due to unsafe weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
Phones or small cameras are allowed.
No pregnant or intoxicated riders will be allowed to ride.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

AWESOME RIDE!!!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They have a small petting zoo by check-in with cute goats!! The horses were beautiful and very well taken care of by the staff. The ride was wonderful. The ranch was gorgeous and the ocean views were spectacular!! The guides were exceptional. We appreciated the fact that there were three guides spread out among the group so we could hear instructions and info that the guides were sharing. Camilla and Dean were great! A special shout out to Isa who was FABULOUS 😊😊 She shared so many interesting facts about the ranch and Hawaii. She was so personable, engaging, and so sweet to my son and daughter. She truly made the ride even better!! And of course, mahalo to our horses...Bonita, Cowboy, Scarlett, and Kolea. Magnificent animals!! Thank you for a great experience. Highly recommend this activity with Gunstock Ranch!!! We will be back!!

Camilla and Ali have wonderful personalities and are a definite asset to Gunstock Ranch! Camilla was our guide and she really knows her way around a horse! Clearly she was passionate about showing us a great time and the best ride, safely. She even took excellent photo's of us at the top of the mountain! She is an awesome tour guide. Ali helped me with my very gentle, beautiful pinto. They are both friendly, kind and fun to be around. Ali used to live in New Mexico where we are from :-). They both made the experience so much fun!! This is a must on your to-do list if you love beautiful scenery and having fun on a horse. Mahalo!

My husband and I go on horseback trail rides on all of our vacations. Gunstock Ranch is one of the best experiences we have had on horseback together. The horses are very well behaved and taken care of, and our guide, Ari lead the way to the best view in town! I’ve been riding for 10+ years in lessons and shows, my husband only rides on vacation and we would recommend this ride for riders of all skill levels.
