Houston Historic District Craft Cocktail Tour

Overview

The Historic Houston Craft Cocktail Tour will feature a variety of cocktails from some of the city’s most talented mixologists in addition to a few delicious bites and a dose of history.

Each tour will be different, offering an element of surprise to all participants. We’ve partnered with numerous downtown hotspots including OKRA Charity Saloon, Frank’s Pizza and El Big Bad to name a few. Consider this tour a refined happy hour that transports you back to the beginnings of Houston.

Participants can expect a variety of flavor profiles throughout the tour. Some may enjoy a Blueberry, Jalapeño & Cilantro Margarita paired with a hearty Steak Carne Asada Taco or a warm, flakey Plantain Empanada (vegetarian-friendly) from El Big Bad. Others may enjoy a refreshing Peach Moonshine paired with a mouthwatering Smoked Brisket Grilled Cheese from The Moonshiners Southern Table + Bar. Some may even enjoy both! All tours will end with a spiked coffee drink for a little pick-me-up.

I always say that food is my love language and tell others how it's the best way to learn about a city and its culture. What I love about Best Bites Houston is that it's a walking food tour that explores the city's "diverse food & culture one bite at a time!" And that's exactly what this food tour does. They do all the work for you. You can literally just show up and enjoy the tour. What also makes this food tour most enjoyable and uniquely different, is the lead tour guide, Star. During my food tour, Star was passionate about every location we visited. She provided us with so much insight, whether about the restaurants and their history, the culture and architecture of downtown Houston, or an insider's scoop of the local chefs. I did the cocktail tour last weekend (it included food!). Star is such a great tour guide, she is very knowledgeable of the history of downtown Houston! I’ve been living here for 7 years and never knew many of the things she told us. She selects different bars with completely different vibes, a taste for everyone. It was wonderful to have her select some great spots in historic downtown Houston, we went to places I’ve never been to. The overall experience was wonderful, you get to meet people, the host is a wonderful person with so much energy and the food/drinks are exceptional.

This was one of the best tours I have been to. One of a kind in Houston, there is nothing else like it. Star is an amazing host, the food and drinks were delicious and the places we went to were unique and fun. I highly recommend this tour to experience a special part of Houston! I can’t wait to experience more from Best Bites!
