I stuck me that Houston didn't that many sights for a major city, so this tour looked like a pretty good solution. Expensive enough, but it lasted 6 hours. Houston was done in 45 mins. The trip to Galveston took an hour. The Galveston portion included a boat trip, which I skipped on, as I wanted to walk around. Informative guide/driver too.

Galveston Texas day trip or sightseeing is a wonderful trip! Galveston, Texas is home to the Carnival, Disney and RCCL cruise ships. The downtown area is called the Strand and many has activities that go on there regularly like Madras Gras in late February/March. Also, Seawall Blvd is an active location for beach and watersports in the Gulf of Mexico. The best time to visit the beach is March to late October. RV's are welcome and you can spend the night in your RV or rent a room at the Hilton, Holiday Inn, San Luis Resort or Hotel Galvez. Numerous good restaurants are available like: Landrys', Gaidos, Fishersman's Wharf and Willie G's Seafood & Steaks are popular seafood restaurants. I like The Black Pearl for a casual dinner for great oysters and delicous food and onion rings - the best! Galveston's strand near the cruise port has numerous shops and smaller eateries! They have regular events for islanders throughout the year! A great place to visit at Christmas for Dickens on the Strand festivites where locals dress up in Victoria era dresses and clothing and showcase themselves to the many visitors who come to the island. If your close by, dont hesitate to visit Galveston Island for a fun, hassle free relaxing day.

Tour of Houston was very good - it was a rainy day so appreciated that we had alternate enclosed bus rather than the double decker however on a sunny day it would be an awesome way to see the city. Host was very informative. This is NOT a hop on-hop off tour. Takes you thru the historical district, theatre district, financial district, stadium/convention district and museum/medical district. Then transfer buses and off to Galveston - due to lower numbers we went as part of the tour that got dropped off at NASA. Unfortunately it was a very rainy day so unable to enjoy the beaches and boardwalk in Galveston but did some dining and walking thru the many, many gift shops (Galveston is a cruise shop port!). If it was a sunny day, the amount of time on the island is not enough to spend a day bath beach, so to speak, I would suggest of going to Galveston for that purpose, rent a car or get a shared ride (Lyft/Uber) and go for the day. Tour bus driver was good, very friendly, funny. Family run business. Easy to find the pick up point - close to all hotels in the area of the convention centre/stadiums. Definitely recommend.
