Hula Lesson on Maui (Basics)

Overview

We're Maui's only multicultural dance and arts center providing an inviting way to experience Hawai'i's heritage. This class is geared to beginners of all ages and is fun, friendly class lead by our highly experienced instructors is welcoming to everyone, visitors and kama 'aina and all ages. You'll leave knowing more about hula and hula history. Classes at Wonderful World of Aloha also include complimentary entrance to our unique "Migrations" galleries that present the story of the centuries of migrations to Hawai'i through dance costumes, implements and instruments.

I took the hula class with my daughters, age 15 and 11 and we had such a fun experience! The instructor was wonderful and made the 3 dances we learned very easy. She also shared a lot about her native Hawaiian culture. The studio is in the mall and has a small museum. It seems like a great organization dedicated to preserving Hawaiian culture.

What a great hula lesson in a wonderful location ! Our hula teacher was excellent as well as the facilities. She was patient and encouraging. By the end of the hour we were able to complete an entire hula dance. We were even able to video our entire dance at the end of the lesson. Also at the dance studio make sure you visit the three back rooms that have an excellent colorful exhibit. We had so much fun and got our bodies moving. Highly recommend!

I’m a trained dancer, choreographer and teacher. I’ve danced hula for about 20 years. I was looking for a class just to have a good time on the island. This was perfect! I love supporting the local dance community and the culture. Got a workout and met a new dance friend! Mahalo…see you next time!
