We spent over $4,000 for 6 fisherman. We were promised 3 rafts as 4 of the 6 were beginners. We waited at the air taxi office for 45 minutes, as instructed, and finally called to find out they were at a different location. When we met up we were told that they only had 2 rafts making fishing for beginners very difficult. As a result, 3 of the 6 did not catch any fish. On top of that the waders they gave my wife leaked. The only bright spot was that we had a great guy for our guide.

We had a great morning out on the ice with Will. The snow pattered down on the red tent out on the ice. With the heater inside we were comfortable, despite the cold weather outside. I caught and released 8 rainbow trout (all under 10 inches). It's all about the experience, sharing stories while fishing and watching the fish below swim through the crystal clear water. Be a responsible fisher-person and make sure to get your single-day fishing license prior to your fishing date. We wore face masks while fishing. The other two guests in the tent did not wear them. The tent is close-quarters so I'd highly recommend wearing your mask.

Ice fishing was definitely the one thing I wanted to do while in AK. We had a blast, caught a lot of little fish. However you could see all the way to the bottom of the lake, there were definitely some big ones swimming around down there. Exchanged lots of stories and laughs. We definitely plan to come back to AK during warmer months and would use Dave’s fish service again. They even offered to come pick us up, but seeing as how we were only a few minutes away we didn’t see that being necessary.
