Afternoon whale watch out Port Arthur. Start with a bit of a walk from the office down to the boat. It's a barefoot cruise, so you're asked to leave your shoes (secure) at the dock. Crew and captain did everything to make the cruise enjoyable. Nice pupus and drinks. And whales! We did see several plus spinner dolphins. The weather was a bit iffy but you can't ever count on that. The captain imparted a lot of information and the cruise was thoroughly enjoyable. I think it's a must do!

Delightful sunset cruise. The captain and crew were wonderful and made it fun with music and commentary. Might suggest an upgrade on the wine choices (sutter home) but turns out that even so-so wine tastes pretty good when you're on the ocean seeing humpback whales! All in all a highlight of our week in Kauai.

We set out on the afternoon 2 hour tour for whale watching. Our captain who goes by Captain Kauai, runs boat tours one right after the other all day long, so kudos to him and his 3 person crew who did not seem bored or routine, but rather were engaged, upbeat, and interesting. The crew were extremely attentive, whether passing out drinks, food or making sure all passengers were safe and secure with the experience. Unfortunately, we saw only two whales, and both at a distance, but we still loved the two hours because of the beauty of being on the water and the fun atmosphere created by the staff. Don't worry about getting sea sick. Waters are mostly calm, and when they got rocky, Captain Kauai warned us and did all he could to minimize the rocking. Passengers ranged from the very young to those using the aid of a walking stick to get around. You must, however, be very careful, as there are times when the boat does roll about quite a bit, but they are short in span and always with warning.
