Denali National Park and Preserve

With clear sky conditions, guests can view Mountain Denali in all its wonder, as well as the many mountains surrounding Fairbanks.

Breathtaking views of the Aurora Borealis from some of our key Northern Light viewing locations. We will make sure you get to see the Aurora

Chena River State Recreation Area

Each night guests can view the beautiful scenery that surrounds Fairbanks, including the beautiful Chena River and surrounding lakes, streams and more.

Felix Pedro Monument

Gold, Gold, Gold! Alaska is known for oil and gold. Our guides are familiar with gold panning and the man who first discovered gold in July 1902, starting the Fairbanks Gold Rush. This monument is one of many treasures we are happy to share whenever possible with guests. Please remember we go where the clear skies are and not all guests have the same locations to visit. If you want to learn about Alaskan History, ask our wonderful guides who are happy to share both personal and historical facts and stories.

Alyeska Pipeline Viewing Point

Here at Aurora in Alaska we go to the best cloud free location each night. One of our favorites stops along the way is the awe-inspiring and historical Alyeska Pipeline. Whenever possible our guides happily share our Alaskan history with oil and take guests up close and personal to the pipeline.

In August, 2024 our last stop on our cruise/land package to Alaska was in Fairbanks. I did alot of research on companies to see the Northern Lights. Lucky for us the season to see this was at the end of August and according to the research we would be there on the night of August 27th for one night which could work if the conditions were right. Mother nature would determine this. All the companies seem to have a place they went that was inside to wait for that perfect moment to see the Aurora and all were over $100 per person. This seemed appealing to be inside late at night but only one company, "Aurora in Alaska" had a 100% money back guarantee, and even though they were the most expensive company 6 of us all decided that instead of the possibility of loosing the money and not seeing the Northern Lights, we would pay the premium and be guaranteed. Aurora in Alaska also had the best customer service starting with my initial research up to the confirmation of booking. They continued to be in touch with all of us up to the day before our schedule. They contacted us by email and text giving us the choice of cancelling with a full refund or going on the slim chance of seeing the lights. They started contacting us 2 days in advance to update us on the conditions. We were all so impressed with their attentiveness to our experience. I highly highly recommend this company! When and if I go back to Alaska I will definitely book with them again.

Absolutely amazing experience with a professionally run company. The day before my reservation received a reminder text. Early the day of received a text informing me that the KP and cloud coverage meant we might not see the Aurora that night so I was given several options of how I would look like to proceed: cancel with full refund, reschedule, a different adventure, or go out as originally scheduled. I chose to go and received real time updates when the van would be at my location to pick me up. It was as exact to the minute. Our guide was very accommodating and personable. We went to more than one site because he wanted to find the area with the least amount of clouds. When we did settle at a site he set up a campsite, with a fire and beverages, in five minutes. He also kept the van warm if anyone was too cold but let anyone in the van know when the Aurora was visible. When the Aurora did appear each person had pictures taken with the lights. He gave us pointers on how to take photos with our phones. It was definitely worth the amount paid for the excursion!
