Overview
Throughout December, the rooms of the Daniels House are decked out for Christmas!

We had such a good time visiting Daniels House. We took our kids, 9 & 15… they enjoyed learning about the Salem history and exploring the actual house. Being allowed to be hands on while in the home really made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and offered us unlimited info. Our kids were very interested in the home & to feel + see how the homes were constructed back in the day, just phenomenal. This home has been kept in amazing condition considering it is one of the 10 original homes built in Salem. Really makes you feel like your in that day and age when inside. Sooooo cool! If you are looking for a welcoming and intimate learning experience this is definitely a tour not to be missed when in Salem.

Vijay is an absolute treasure. Possessing an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the house, he toured us through each of the available rooms, pointing to preserved features with both a cutting professionalism and a sense of fun. You have to experience his tour to know what it's like. You'll get to use 100+ year old furniture and they'll also give you historic styles of tea to try, complimentary. There's a gift shop at the end with house-made soaps and tea. Note not all rooms will be available to tour because it's also a bed and breakfast, but at least for our tour it seemed to hardly matter (1/2 bedrooms weren't available). The house should continue to be preserved by the owners so other people can get a glimpse into daily life back then, especially through Vijay's tour.

Veejay was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He was ready to answer questions, clearly very engaged, and super nice. Wicked cool old house.
