What To Expect

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Patrick will meet you outside the Met and spend 90 to 120 minutes leading you through the galleries. You will tour multiple sections of the museum and explore a range of curatorial departments, including Greek and Roman Art, European paintings, Asian Art, and Egyptian At.

Patrick's tour was excellent! I'm not a "tour person" normally but couldn't resist the chance to see the Met with a longtime staffer. His insights were both informative and entertaining. Patrick sees the art not just as pretty paintings and statues on view for us, but as essential glimpses into history and the everyday lives of their creators and the culture I left with not only more knowledge and appreciation for the art, but for the guards as well. Every visitor to NY should put this tour on their shortlist--you won't be sorry.

Really loved the tour! It was amazing to get an inside scoop on what it is like working in the museum and how you being around these amazing works for so long affects the way you view the art! Patrick also was very knowledgeable about history of the museum and taught a life-long New Yorker many new things!
