I thought this would be more history and street food. The tour was mostly just tequila tastings. We had a blast, but a few of us were disappointed there wasn't more food. Tanya was amazing, she's friendly, and she definitely knows her stuff. We felt very safe, got across the border and back easily, and Tanya speaks both English and Spanish, which was very helpful.

If you like a tour that doesn't cover much ground, gives no substantive history about Tijuana, fills the time by taking you to places for a weak margarita, candy and tequilla tasting (no hard sell which was good) then this is for you. Border Tours seem to offer different price points for the same trip so just choose the cheapest option. Don't expect to be picked up and escorted through from the US side despite what is offered - anyway it is really easy to do on your own. Blue line Trolley from San Diego to the border worked really well.
