Not recommended for pregnant travelers

Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness
This tour is suitable for ages 15 and up. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
This trip is not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart conditions, neck or back problems.
Divers must be able to: swim unassisted in the open ocean, converse and understand detailed instruction in English, and carry 50lbs of equipment on your back unassisted.
Divers must complete and submit PADI/NAUI mandatory medical questionnaire 72 hours prior to excursion.
Divers must successfully pass classroom and confined portion of activity in order to proceed to ocean dive component.
Refunds will not be honored for individuals who submit late medical questionnaires or who are unable to complete the activity in full.
Please consider your other travel plans as it is a safety requirement that you do NOT travel to altitudes of 2500 ft or higher within an 18 hour period following your dive

The instructor Akara was great. She makes sure you are comfortable at all times. I prefer starting off a boat but if you dont mind starting from shore than this ones for you.

My father, my son and I purchased an introductory beach scuba dive package and Hilo Ocean Adventures did not disappoint!!! We had to reschedule our dive because of a delay in Covid test results and arriving in Hawaii a day later than expected, and Shavon (I apologize if I misspelled her name) and our instructor Doug were so accommodating and understanding. Doug is the best instructor and was so patient with us through each and every step. The waves were a little rough and we weren’t able to scuba dive in the ocean after our lesson to be on the safe side, but Doug took us to shallow beach waters and we went snorkeling instead! We saw tons of beautiful fish and sea turtles while snorkeling and had so much fun! Thank you Doug and Hilo Ocean Adventures! We will definitely be back on our next trip!

Our instructor was very professional and patient. We went to a beautiful beach nearby. As beginners, we didn't go too deep into the water. but you can see lots of fish and sea turtles. We were under the water for about 30 minutes.
