The trip was good. After further thought, we should have done the family tour. My 7 year old son was not the best paddler. I could keep up but I was always last so I missed a lot of what our guide was sharing. I understand the guide could not wait on me, because there were others who paid and should enjoy the trip. I chose this tour because I saw other viewers took their children under 10 and said it was fine. Since I was paddling myself and a 65 lb. boy it made it a bit more difficult. I am very fit and lift weights 5 days a week so I thought I would be fine, but this Momma was pretty tired. I would not recommend this tour unless your child can paddle well or is light weight. There were some Moms with their 3-4 year old children and that would be fine.

Hi Mellissa, Sorry to hear about your experience. For this very reason our age limit is ages 8 and up on the island tour and 6 and up on our family tour. When you book this tour it has the children priced for ages 8-14 and on our website it’s states ages 8 and up. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if anyone books with a child younger than our age limited stated. In regards to your guide leaving you behind I would love to hear more about that. If you are so inclined feel free to reach out via email at [email protected] so I can better understand how the tour went. No one should be left behind. After some research it looks like you were on the 12pm tour on July 3rd. It is highly recommended guests with children book our morning tours. As the site states winds build by 12pm and our afternoon tours are much more difficult, couple that with a child under the age limit it will definitely be a difficult tour. This is also why our family tours are only offered in the morning. In addition now that I know which tour you were on I will definitely be speaking with your guide about your tour! Thank you for your review and if you’d like to try again with us on a morning tour I will happily comp that tour for you!
