Our family of 4 went on the Island Kayaking tour on the 4th of July. This was truly a wonderful experience! Brittany was our guide and she is FULL of cool information about the area, history of the area, wildlife, kayaking, etc. We loved her! Request her for your trip! She is so patient and kind and it is so obvious she wants you to feel safe and have fun. :) Yes, bring cash--you will want to tip her at the end! She deserves it! The company provided people in our group with extra jackets, covers for their legs (it looked like it may rain on us but it held off), etc. The tour itself was so beautiful and never boring. The view is magnificent in every direction! We also learned how to properly operate a kayak! Tips for when you go--yes, arrive early--parking down at the marina is a little busy on weekends, bring your phone or camera--picture opportunities are endless, be on the lookout for wildlife--Brittany will point them out, don't tell your teenagers it is a 5 mile trip (I didn't so nobody complained and just enjoyed themselves), wear SUNSCREEN/wear sunglasses/wear a hat, take water (there is room to put a bottle of water or two in your kayak) because you are exercising in that dry air, stay near Brittany so you don't miss a single fun fact she has to share, know in advance that you can't swim in the reservoir---not permitted, and be ready to have a fun adventure! Thanks, Brittany and to all who work there. It was such a pleasure! With love from your Florida friends. :)
