What To Expect
1
Halona Blowhole
The Halona Blowhole and Beach Cove is a lookout with a panoramic view of the Oʻahu's windward side located along Kalaneanaole Hwy. On a clear day you can see Molokai and Lanai from the lookout. This is also a good whale watching spot. The views from this lookout are also beautiful, and the "From Here to Eternity" beach is just to the right of the blow hole.
2
Tropical Farms (The Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet)
Located on the north end of Oahu on Highway 83 (Kamehameha), near mile marker 32, is this easy to miss macadamia Nut Farm. Nothing has changed in more than 10 years. The very friendly staff are available to provide free 100% Kona coffee and macadamia nuts (a wide variety) as samples. A great bathroom break stop. They also carry the delicious coconut peanut butter produced by North Shore goodies. The farm also provides garden/farm tours via a beat up bus and has a few souvenir stands in the back. The garden setting is beautiful. Parking is abundant but be aware there are likely to be one to there large tour buses dropping off their patrons for the goodies. A wide variety of Hawaiian souvenirs are also available. Whatever you purchase can be mailed right from their location--they will take care of the packaging for a few bucks and save you the hassle at the airport.
3
Oahu's North Shore
The laid-back North Shore is a stretch of coast known for big waves and professional surfing contests at Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. In summer (May–Oct), Pūpūkea Marine Life Conservation District has calm water for snorkeling among colorful coral and fish. Indie galleries, surf shops and Hawaiian plate-lunch spots fill Haleiwa town. We will be having a lunch break at Fumi's Shrimp truck in Kahuku. No worries for non-seafood lovers, we have alternates.
4
Sunset Beach Park
Sunset Beach is on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii and known for big wave surfing during the winter season. The original Hawaiian name for this place is Paumalū. It is a two-mile stretch of mostly beige sand located at 59-104 Kamehameha Highway in Pupukea, 39 miles driving distance from Waikiki.
5
Waimea Bay
Waimea Bay is located in Haleiwa on the North Shore of O'ahu in the Hawaiian Islands at the mouth of the Waimea River. Waimea Valley extends behind Waimea Bay. Waimea means "reddish water" in Hawaiian.
6
Shark's Cove
Shark’s Cove is a popular site for snorkeling, and is fairly shallow. Depths range up to 20 feet at the cove’s mouth. Diving conditions are better outside the cove. Caves can be found around the cove’s northwest point, and to a lesser extent to the south. The area to the left of the cove offers excellent night diving. The bottom outside the cove slopes to about 45 feet. Visibility is generally poor inside the cove, but improves quickly outside. The origin of the cove’s name is uncertain, but sharks are no more common here than anywhere else on the island. Shark’s Cove is one of the North Shore’s most popular SCUBA destinations.
7
Haleiwa
Haleʻiwa is a North Shore community and census-designated place in the Waialua District of the island of Oʻahu, City and County of Honolulu. Haleʻiwa is located on Waialua Bay, the mouth of Anahulu Stream. This is also where you will find the World Famous Giovanni's Shrimp Truck and Matsumoto Shave (no "d") Ice.
8
Dole Plantation
"Dole Plantation provides enjoyable activities for the entire family, including the Pineapple Express Train Tour, the Plantation Garden Tour, and the Pineapple Garden Maze. Also popular are informational displays and presentations, as well as our plantation country store offering a wide variety of Dole Plantation gifts, local favorites, foods and refreshments including the world-famous DoleWhip®. And, before you leave you can purchase fresh pineapple to take home."
