Thank you, Chuck, for an amazing food, history and cultural experience yesterday, March 22! You were thoughtful, full of humor and joy, and an endless source of stories and anecdotes about Philly. Your tour was one of the best I have ever been on. It leaves a lovely memory with me that I will carry for a long time, including your safe advice to ā€œsavor your cannoli.ā€

I had an awesome time on the Philadelphia Italian Market Food Tour, and a big part of that was thanks to Chuck, our guide. He wasn’t just knowledgeable—he clearly had a real connection to the neighborhood. Everywhere we went, he knew the owners, the workers, and even a few regulars passing by. It felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a friend who happens to know all the best spots and stories. The food, of course, was fantastic. I still think about that Tomato Pie! We sampled some amazing cheese, gelato and an unforgettable cannoli. But what really made it special was the history and little bits of city lore that Chuck shared along the way. He told us about the families who’ve run these businesses for generations, pointed out easy-to-miss details, and even threw in a few local legends. If you love food and enjoy getting to know a city through its people, this is 100% worth it. By the end, I felt like I had a much better understanding of this part of Philly—not just what to eat, but the stories behind it. And I was so stuffed we had to walk it off.

This was a perfect tasting menu for the Italian Market area. Our guide, Meg, was just simply fantastic. Her knowledge and stories made the market specifically, and the city generally, come alive. Though we were with here for a short time we learned so much from and about her, all if which made the tour that mych more fun and interesting. The duration is perfect, any more food stops and belts would need to be loosened! If you do this tour come hungry! We got a sense for all of the wonderful ethnic food options and a desire to return to try even more. Many thanks for a fantastic time.
