Sonoma is the gateway to the Carneros. The only AVA that spans two counties (Napa and Sonoma). It is also the most ideal location to fly balloons as the rolling hills provide a breath taking back drop. When abundant landing opportunities our flights typically last longer travel further and traverse more scenic corridors then companies in Napa.

It is known as the largest plaza in California surrounded by unique shops, restaurants and a lot more.

I am DEADLY afraid of heights, but the hot air balloon trip was so easy I had no issue. The crew was amazing $ our pilot, Jeff, was the absolute best. He had a great sense of humor and was very informative on the scenery.

The balloon experience was amazing! We had so much fun with everyone. The crew is fantastic, energetic, and fun. Our ride was beyond enjoyable and made a lasting impression. I would recommend this as a must do activity!

Overall we were a bit disappointed in our trip. The ballooning took place in Winters, CA, which is in Yolo county and not in either Sonoma or Napa counties. We were pretty disappointed in this since Sonoma Ballooning's website clearly states that all launch sites are "in wine country." Perhaps Winters is technically wine country, I'm not sure, but it certainly didn't feel like wine country. We didn't see a single vine on our flight; instead, we flew over walnut trees and a nursery. The flight itself was pretty, but given a 1 hour drive time each direction and not being in either Sonoma or Napa counties, we certainly would not do it again

Hi Alex, Sorry to hear that we didn't hit the mark with your flight. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the actual flight. We had to relocate with all the other companies from Napa as the weather was to foggy to fly safely. When that call can be made the day before we have hospitality contact each guest and offer the next available date, to join us in Yolo or cancelation. Yolo is never mandatory but guests often choose to join us there. We are extremely lucky as we don't have to leave Sonoma nearly as much as Napa balloons as the Napa river is a fog machine! This year we flew over nearly 300 tines and only went to yolo 13 times.
