Head out on this a small group tour into Joshua Tree National Park conducted on an exciting enclosed Hummer, SUV or touring Van. Gawk at the amazing contortions of rock that create an amazing landscape of vibrant geologically created colors against the bluest sky in California!

Your expert guide will illuminate your understanding about how this landscape was created and share the stories of the Indians and settlers who lived here.

See the most iconic and most photographed places in the park as well as stop at a viewpoint where you can see all the way to Mexico!

This tour will visit the most iconic locations in the park including it's legendary giant boulders, learn about the forces of the San Andreas Fault that jolt the landscape beneath Joshua Tree itself.

What To Expect

Joshua Tree National Park

We provide you an informative and entertaining tour of Joshua Tree with one of our professional geology guides. We will take some roads where a 4x4 is required where few people will ever see. We also take you to the most photographed places in the park and take a walk in an area where you can find Indian cave drawings and even an old dam left by cowboys long past.

Cap Rock Trail

Explore with your guide enormous rock formations exposed at the Earths surface that were produced by the very forces of the San Andreas Fault miles beneath. Here rocks seem to precariously balance upon one another in a fight between gravity and subterranean forces. A 30 minute optional guided walk is made here.

Intersection Rock

This iconic rock formation is one of the most popular places in the park for rock climbers. Gawk at the climbers as they challenge the perils of the 3rd dimension.

Great tour of the Joshua Tree National Park with Gary. Gary is very knowledgeable in geology and wildlife and explained a lot of interesting things to us about the formation of the boulders and why the Joshua Trees only grow where they grow. He also talked about the wildlife present in the park, and also in another reserve park that we went to, at the start of the tour. He made sure to stop at places where he knew I would get good photos (I am a keen photographer and in the group, we had a gentleman who struggled to walk, so unfortunately, we couldn't walk as much as I would have liked during the tour). Gary also took a couple of pictures of me in the park, at my request, which is nice as I will have memories that I was there. I would definitely recommend this tour: a lot of interesting stories and facts, beautiful scenery, and well, it was my first time in a Hummer (I got addicted). Joshua Tree National Park is spectacular. Having a tour guide added a lot to the experience. We had Jeff as our guide. He was passionate, polite, professional, very accommodating, extremely knowledgeable about the area and the as well as many stories he told us regarding the history and geology. However, for the price charged, we felt the hummer could get a facelift!!! It was older and not super clean!

My husband and I took this tour a few days ago and cannot recommend it highly enough! The desert is simply magical but the best thing about seeing it this way was our incredibly knowledgeable and interesting guide Zach. He provided us with so much information about the different eco systems, the evolution of the desert flora and fauna, as well as some great pop culture facts. Zach quickly worked out the sorts of things that interested us the most and as it was a quiet day in the park he was able to stop off at some spots that he knew we would enjoy, including the site of Gram Parsons attempted cremation. Driving back to Palm Springs with the sun setting and a cool playlist was a perfect end to the tour. Thanks so much Zach and Adventure Hummer Tours 😁
