Please ensure to select the correct passenger option when booking your tour. The space inside the aircraft and we want to guarantee everyone will be comfortable in the helicopter. Selecting the improper option or misreporting weight can cause tour delays and cancellations without refund.
No-bag policy. If you have medical needs that require a carry on, please note at time of booking. All bags brought to base will be stored in the tour office until you return from your flight
Dress warmly and in layers, and wear rubber-soled shoes such as a light hiking boot or athletic shoes. The tour company will provide overshoes and can supply raincoats as needed. Remember to bring your camera, film and binoculars!
Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative time or full refund
Please ensure your weight is in the correct format (kgs/lbs) when you include your weight at checkout
WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Please remember that each passenger will be weighed at our facilities. Be sure accurate weights have been reported and proper passenger types have been selected for each passenger. Misreporting weights or selecting the wrong passenger type may cause tour delays and cancellations without refunds.
Failure to provide mandatory information will result in cancellation of bookings. You must provide individual weights and pick up location details.
Coastal Helicopters will try our best to accommodate parties/families in the same helicopter. However, we cannot guarantee seating as it is all based on helicopter weight and balance, as well as the other parties within the flight. This will be determined at the time of check in once everyone on the flight has weighed in. Should your family/party be in split into multiple helicopters, the landing will happen together. Please also note that lap children are NOT allowed, and each passenger must purchase a full fare ticket.

Got a little extra tour al la Gilligan's island on the dogsledding/glacier tour... After helicopter ride up to doggy base camp, and during our mushing tour, fog dropped down on our bit of glacier. They had to hook up six dog sleds to the biggest snow mobile I've seen and haul us down glacier to where the helicopters could pick up us. Other than having the movie , The Thing popping into my head for awhile there, it was way fun and worth every penny.

Truly once in a life time opportunity!! If you are thinking about going, do it!!! Bucket list for sure. The weather was perfect. The helicopter ride was smooth and beautiful and the pilot had lots of info about the mountain ranges and glaciers. Upon landing you are mesmerized by the environment, the mountains, the snow, ice, no pictures do it justice. Incredible and awe inspiring. Our musher was so great! He let us ask any questions we had and we had such an incredible experience. The dogs were all so loving and fun. What made this tour even better was hearing the love for the dogs, and how every single item is bought up by helicopter then taken away at the end of the season. Nothing is left on the glacier. Not even the dog poo. Its an incredible story to hear. I wore a beanie, a hoodie and a rain coat and I was more comfortable. I would recommend gloves if your hands get cold! In saying that though it did get warm during the dog sled. We loved the sledding but it is a lot of hard work staying on the flimsy sled. We did nearly topple over which wasnt good but luckily between out musher the ones on the back and my hubby we righted. The sled ride is 1 kilometre, which was enough for us. Seriously, if you are debating on going, DO IT! It’s worth every cent!! Yes its an expensive tour, but will you ever get another chance on Mendenhall Glacier?
