The whale watching tour was the main reason we booked a cruise to Alaska, and this tour did not disappoint. It was clear from the start that our naturalist Libby was very passionate about her job and cared about the whales we were there to see. She knew many of them on sight and had fun stories and anecdotes about past sightings. Captain Tom was great and did a fantastic job finding the viewing locations without being intrusive to the wildlife. The ship also had a nice combination of options for sitting inside vs. standing on the back deck if you wanted fresh air. By contrast we did another whale watching tour later on our cruise in Victoria which was not nearly as good. The guides were less involved, the ride was not as smooth, and the interior of the ship was not designed well for looking out of the windows. This tour in Juneau was much better and was the highlight of our trip.

Libby is an excellent naturalist and guide. Very knowledgeable about the whales and the Juneau area. Captain Tom kept us near the whales and other sights. Highly recommend this tour!!!

The bus driver -- whose name I have forgotten -- was a hoot. A true and genuine character, who added a touch of genuineness to this experience, as were the guides on the boat. All were informative and helpful. An added surprise was a family of orcas, not something you see every day. And the sight of a tail gracefully making an experience made my day.
