We had a rented room for a friends 40th bday - we get in, the rooms are pretty darn nice and service is good. But I'd expect that for the price of bottle service and drinks.
Pros:
- Service was quick and good
- They poured our 1L bottle into easier to manage carafes to spread around the table
- Lighting is awesome
Cons:
- There is no remote or easy way to enter songs into the queue - you literally have to get up and use the tablet right below the main tv - basically bending over to try to enter songs
- They literally use Youtube for karaoke - they don't pay for any licensing and this makes it super difficult to use
- They don't even pay for Youtube Premium, so we dealt with several ads on the tablet
- The user experience is super poor - the tablet would regularly disconnect from the screen or have a constant wheel of death, making for long delays with 2 of us leaning over the mounted wall tablet to try to figure out how to restart
- The table is massive and makes it hard for people to get in/out, which is necessary when trying to put in a song
- There is no way to adjust anything easily
- Hard to keep a vibe when you're literally almost blocking the front tv while trying to search for a song on Youtube then trying to add to a queue which would regularly glitch at stop taking any more songs
- Most of the time we would put in one song, whoever would sing, then there would be silence while we tried to load another song
Overall, if you want a private room to chill with your friends, go for it. But we wanted to sing karaoke and this is the worst experience I've ever had with trying to do Karaoke. For the price that's being paid, we definitely expect at least a remote and a few books to choose. Or I've been to places like Baby Ketten that had a site where you could add songs to the queue from your phone. ANYTHING to avoid getting up and trying to squeeze around the massive table. And ANYTHING to keep from having ads on Youtube.
